In conjunction with the Dali Museum’s Dali/Duchamp special exhibition, we invite you to Games at The Dali. On select Thursdays during the exhibit (February 10–May 27), we celebrate the game playing (and gamesmanship) of Dali and Duchamp, artistic giants and friends who shared a mutual influence, despite many superficial and aesthetic differences. From strategic chess moves to diversions of alter ego creation, these two iconoclasts engaged the world in ways both playful and thoughtful, irreverent and important.
Exquisite Corpse
Join us for an exciting evening of game play, art, chance and group collaboration. In teams of three, you will create irrational, dreamlike creatures playing the surrealist game known as “Exquisite Corpse,” invented in part by Marcel Duchamp. Prizes will be awarded to the most surreal creations to be judged by AIGA Tampa Bay members. Artistic skills are not necessary to participate – all you need is your creativity. Art supplies will be provided and a cash bar will be open.
